He is survived by wife of 27 years, Nanie Jackson; children, Lonnie T. Jackson (Dewana), Karen Dunlap, Lonnie C. Jackson, Jr., Debra Hughes, Theresa A. Jackson and Rachel Lewis; sister, Katy Martin.

Roylin Bradley, Sr.

LA MARQUE — On Thursday, January 27, 2005, Roylin Bradley, Sr., passed into his eternal life at the age of 56. Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Wednesday, February 2, 2005, at Lincoln Auditorium, 6320 Carver Street in Texas City, with Pastor James E. Brown, Sr., officiating. Visitation will be from 12 p.m. - 8 p.m., Tuesday at the Mainland Funeral Home of La Marque. There will be no wake.

Roylin was born January 24, 1949, in Galveston, Texas to Clarence Bradley, Sr. and Mattie Young Bradley. He was a 1967 graduate of Lincoln High School and attended Texas Southern University, Houston, Texas where he received his BAE Degree. Roylin also was a veteran of the U. S. Army and also graduated Personnel Specialist Training School. He was a well-known and respected La Marque businessman and owner of Signs by Bradley. He was a member of Greater Barbour's Chapel Baptist Church, the Lincoln Woodland Heritage Society; Black Alumni Association; Club 2000 Social & Charity Club, and other community organizations. Roylin was an accomplished artist and had exhibits during numerous occasions in Texas City and Houston. His work is displayed at Texas Southern University, as well as some published in the Galveston County Daily News, The Texas City Sun and Houston Area and Urban Leagues. He was also an avid La Marque Cougar supporter. He is preceded in death by his parents and 13 siblings. Left to cherish his most precious memories are his devoted and loving wife, Lornette Bradley of La Marque; his children, Roylin Bradley, Jr., Calvin Bradley of La Marque, Gina Daniels of Clear Lake and Laquitta Daniels of La Marque; his beloved grandchildren, D'lisha Harris, Summer Harris and A'myni Bradley; his sisters, Jewel Marie Hunter of Los Angeles, California, Doris Whitfield of Oakland, California and Viola Byrd of Houston; his brothers, Clarence Bradley, Jr. of Texas City, Jasper Bradley of La Marque, Bay Bradley and Thomas Bradley both of Navasota; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family members and devoted friends.

Marilyn Marie Jackson

She was called to her eternal home Monday, November 15, 2004, at her residence. She was born Tuesday, June 19, 1951, in Dequincy, Louisiana to the late Evelyn Cains-Trotter and L.V. Dixon, Sr. She was educated at Booker T. Washington and a member of Mt. Paran Missionary Baptist Church, Texas City.

She leaves to cherish her memories Cloutier Trotter Jr.; children, LaDonna, Marquiez and Dorothy Jackson, all of Texas City; brothers, L.V. Dixon, Jr. (Moby) of Houston, and Bryant Dixon, DeQuincy, Louisiana; sisters; Julia and Kathy Williams, Dequincy, Louisiana; 12 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; devoted friend, Raymond Williams.

God's omniscient temporary assignment of life on this earth for Leroy Hardeman began on September 21, 1934 and ended on October 31, 2004.

Leroy's sweet spirit will forever remain on this earth in the hearts of his wife, Freida Hardeman; sons, Alonzo Hardeman (Alice) and Michael Hardeman, (Norma Gayle); daughters, Mildred Hardeman (Nick) and Susie Hardeman; step children, Elizabeth Jones and Jeremy Jones; grandchildren, Brittany Hardeman and Michael Hardeman, Jr., sister, Marie Freeman, Jean Joyce and husband Earl Joyce; brothers, Eddie Hardeman, Sr. and Laurence Hardeman.

TEXAS CITY - Mr. Lewis E. Morgan, 87, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, April 18, 2004, at Mainland Medical Center. Visitation will be held Friday, April 23, 2004, from 2 p.m. - 7 p.m., at Augustus Funeral Home Chapel, 832 5th Ave N., Texas City. Homegoing celebration, is Saturday, April 24, 2004, at 2 p.m., Rising Star Baptist Church, with Rev. D.N. Benford, as pastor. Burial will follow at Rising Star Cemetery. He was born November 23, 1916, in Navasota. He was a veteran of WWI and a member of ILA Local 20. He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings, grandson, Ronald L. Morgan and daughter Mary H. Jackson.  He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Florine Morgan; son, Louis Morgan (Doris); daughters, Bettie Morgan and Carolyn Gary; 9 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; sister, Georgia Baldwin of Houston and host of other family members and friends.

The family would like to express special thanks to Dr. Anderson and all staff on the ICU ward at Mainland Center for the care given to our loved one.

DICKINSON — On February 18, 2004, Leon Woodard departed his earthly life at home with his family and friends. Visitation, February 24, 10-11 a.m., Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, 2902 Ave F, Dickinson. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. Pastor Roderick Cunningham, officiating. Burial, Mainland Memorial Cemetery, Hitchcock.

Leon was born, February 17, 1955 in Brenham to Cleon and Ruthel Woodard. Leon was reared in Brenham and in 1966 his family moved to Dickinson. Leon was a 1974 graduate of Dickinson High School. He was baptized at Greater New Hope Baptist Church, under the leadership of Pastor Frank Celestine. Leon was employed with Food King for 30 years.

Preceded him in death, father; brothers, Clarence Woodard and Thomas R. Woodard; niece, Victoria L. Woodard. He leaves to cherish his memories mother, Ruthel Woodard, Dickinson; sisters Ruth Webb and Augusta Woodard; brothers, Rev. Lee Roy Woodard (Gearry), Deacon Albert E. Woodard, Jerry Woodard, Gerry Woodard, Cleon Woodard, Jr. (Ruth) of Fresno California and Larry Woodard of Fort Worth; devoted nieces Chanda Taylor, Monique Webb, Tylamika Robertson, Koriayne Webb, all of Dickinson; great niece, Audrie Taylor; nephews, Jason Woodard and Lee Roy Woodard, Jr.; great nephews, Devon and Emery Taylor. McKinley Smith, Sr.

TEXAS CITY - McKinley Smith, Sr., 75, passed away on Saturday, February 7, 2004, at Mainland Medical Center. A wake will follow from 7-8 p.m.

McKinley Smith, Sr. was born in Brenham on June 27, 1928, to the late Hollie and Nancy Smith. He was united in holy matrimony to Evelyn Alcorn Smith and to this union four children were born. He accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of the Old Gay Hill Baptist Church in Brenham. He later united with the Greater Macedonia Baptist Church under the leadership of the later Rev. S.A. Anderson. He re-dedicated his life to God under Pastor Charles Milton. He was employed with Amoco Chemicals in Texas City for a period of thirty-four years. After retiring in 1984, McKinley enjoyed traveling to his weekend home in Brenham where he found comfort in the quiet life and peaceful surroundings among his family.

He leaves to cherish his memories a loving and devoted wife of fifty-six years, Evelyn Alcorn Smith; two daughters, Gwen (Angelo), Sandra (Rodney); three sons, McKinley (Wanda), David (Mary), Stanley (Barbara); twenty-four grandchildren; twenty-eight great grandchildren; three special nieces; Diane Jones, Joyce Dickey and Nancy Dixon; one devoted nephew, Ray Charles (Bubba) Smith; one godson, Rev. Charles Milton, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
